Pastel

Pastel, alias Francisco Diaz, is an Argentinian artist using nature and symbolism to explore and communicate on rarely told war stories as well as socio-political discrepancies, which, to this day, remain relevant in new geographical areas.

Afar from conventional architecture, Pastel conceives his street art as urban acupuncture work. Modern cities are full of "non-places" due to irregular and non-inclusive urban planning. Muralism can therefore represent a revival for these places, when working on the united local identity, and not just used as a tool for social gentrification.

Working with flora as a social symbolism, through his works Pastel initiates a dialogue on the nature of man and his environment, the existential, real, pure and tragic, almost forgotten in modern society.
